LONDON'S FINEST CINEMA TICKET OFFICE

Willesden Green Cinema Ticket Booth

14/01/08/// When they renovated the Willesden Green Library Centre and Museum they seem to have neglected putting aside any funds to renovate the cinema. Pictured above is the fabulous ticket booth that's crudely assembled from various mismatched weatherboard and held together with bent nails, duct tape and hope. This is my local cinema and its fun standing in the art-brut queue to pay (cash only) through this little hatch. It reminds a little of Simon Starling's Shedboatshed  and maybe this is going to be reused to barricade up another building site so it's Boardingboothboarding. An art piece. The cinema itself is fittingly decrepit. The last time I was there I had to try four different seats to find one that didn't just fold down underneath me. I am yet to hear anybody say that this area is "up and coming".
